A Firm Built on Precision & Professional Integrity
Bestari Legal has served Malaysian taxpayers and corporations with careful, well-considered tax counsel since its founding in Kuala Lumpur.
Back to HomeFounded on the Principle of Careful Counsel
Bestari Legal was established in Kuala Lumpur with a clear intention: to provide individuals and businesses with tax advisory that places understanding above speed. The firm was founded by a group of tax professionals who observed that many clients were receiving compliance services without the benefit of genuine planning conversations.
From the beginning, the firm positioned itself not as a document-processing centre but as a long-term advisory partner. Every engagement begins with listening — understanding the client's financial structure, their obligations, and their aspirations — before any technical work commences.
Today, Bestari Legal advises a diverse client base spanning salaried professionals, sole proprietors, private limited companies, and multinational groups operating across Southeast Asia. The team holds registrations with the Malaysian Institute of Accountants and maintains active membership with the Chartered Tax Institute of Malaysia.
Our Mission
To provide Malaysian taxpayers with clarity on their obligations and a thoughtful approach to managing tax within the bounds of law — free from jargon, pressure, or unnecessary complexity.
Our Vision
To be the advisory firm that clients turn to when they want considered, honest, and professionally grounded guidance — not simply a signature on a form.
Our Values
Precision in every computation. Transparency in every recommendation. Respect for the client's time and trust in every interaction.

How We Maintain Quality
CTIM Registration
All advisory team members hold active registration with the Chartered Tax Institute of Malaysia, ensuring their technical knowledge is current and professionally verified.
Client Confidentiality Protocol
Every client engagement is governed by a strict confidentiality protocol. Financial information is stored securely, shared only within the assigned advisory team, and never disclosed to third parties without consent.
Two-Level Review Process
Every tax computation and advisory memorandum undergoes review by a second qualified practitioner before delivery to the client. This reduces the likelihood of computational error and improves the quality of recommendations.
Continuous Professional Development
The team participates in structured CPD programmes throughout the year, covering updates to the Income Tax Act, transfer pricing guidelines, OECD developments, and Malaysian Budget announcements.
Data Protection Compliance
The firm operates in accordance with Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA). Client data is handled with care and stored on secured, access-controlled systems.
Engagement Letter Standard
Every client engagement is documented with a formal engagement letter setting out scope, fees, responsibilities, and timelines. This protects both the client and the firm and ensures clarity from the outset.
Tax Expertise Grounded in Malaysian Law
Bestari Legal's advisory practice draws on a thorough understanding of the Income Tax Act 1967 and its ongoing amendments, the Real Property Gains Tax Act, the Stamp Act, and the relevant provisions governing goods and services tax for import-export activities. The team monitors legislative developments through official LHDN circulars and CTIM technical bulletins.
For corporate clients, the firm's knowledge of the Promotion of Investments Act 1986 — particularly pioneer status and investment tax allowance provisions — allows advisors to identify where companies may be entitled to apply for incentives that reduce their effective tax rate. These applications require careful documentation and timely submission, both of which fall within the firm's engagement scope.
The international tax practice draws on Malaysia's extensive double taxation agreement network, which covers over seventy countries. Advising on the practical application of treaty provisions — particularly as they relate to withholding tax rates, permanent establishment thresholds, and the treatment of business profits — is among the more specialised areas of the firm's work.
Bestari Legal's office in Menara IMC, Jalan Sultan Ismail, places it at the centre of Kuala Lumpur's professional and financial district, making it accessible for meetings with clients from across the Klang Valley and beyond.
